Rinkaliskiply : I had some chicken from trader joes last night and i checked (like i always do) for ingredients that i may be allergic to i.e. treenuts. My experience throughout my whole life has been that when there are nuts or allergens of any kind in the product it shows it under a warning at the end of the ingredients list. My whole life that has been where i look for the allergens and every time if there is one it shows up there. Well i checked this one and there was no allergens listed. After two bites my throat began to close up and i began to have a severe allergic reaction. i ended up having to go to an urgent care and get three shots to stop the reaction because i was going into anaphylactic shock. This product should be labeled better and it almost cost me my life. Do i have any legal recourse?

whetribather : If they have a list of indgredients on the package and whatever you're allergic to is listed there, then no you have no legal recourse. It's not up to them to delineate your allergies for you.

If nothing listed in the ingredients is an allergen to you, then either something was added to the mix, or it wasn't the food that made you have the reaction.

reteAmeli : or

is it a "don't pay if not win" kinda thing?

I want to sued Fed Ex for denying my claim.
They said that they tried to contact me several times.

So I will get a lawyer... but I am broke...
Do I need to pay him or will he or she do the "don't pay if not win"?
They denied my claim because they can't contact me.

I told them that my address is correct and my phone number is correct..
I think they are lying.
Fed Ex told me they don't want anything to do with me anymore.

oritisaexarse : Just over a year ago I was publicly humiliated by a 16yo (at the time) girl when she told people that I was a creepy guy who stalks girls. I didn't think much of it, passing it off as a silly infantile comment. However, just over a year later, the consequences of her actions have impacted my life in an unforeseen manner. I have had to change to distance studying in a different city, am socially isolated, suffering from depression, scared of leaving the house, got thrown out of my school I had attended for over 8 years, and now am involved in an ongoing court case against me. All of that has stemmed from a girl 4 years younger than I am. Last month I tried filling a complaint to the police but recently received a letter from the magistrates saying that they have filled a copy, if I wish to take it further I need to seek legal advice from a lawyer (I can't afford to do that - I have just €9 in my savings account). To me, this is like saying that it is OKay to slander people's name and committee libel for personal gain.

Am I right in thinking that she has committed a crime or something illegal? What can I do about all of this given my circumstances?

Edit: I live in the region of Murcia, Spain and lack the funds for transport. The girl in question has since used the court case as an excuse to her parents to for fill her dreams and move back to Ireland.
