Poendypyday : I was involved in a small fender bender that gave the other car a few scratches(not even noticeable in the picture I took.) She calls the police, after giving him our information, he tells me that although the exp. date is still a good date, my boss didn't pay(non-payment) and it had been removed for about a month. He gave me a ticket for Failure to Maintain Financial Requirement. I have my personal insurance on my car would this be of any use? He also said i could have other consequences as in having my license suspended and paying for the damages. Is this right? My boss agreed that he would pay for damages(that's what he has said). But as for my ticket, could I get it dismissed or what should I do!?!?

lizebeest : My personal insurance would cover me then ask the company for reimbursement. Ask your insurance company.

Lauren_Virginia : Even you have your own personal insurance it can't be transferred to other car. The insurance you are paying is only for your own car. If the officer gave you a ticket for failure to maintain financial requirement, then your boss has also a consequences not only you because he is the owner of that car and responsible for paying the insurance. I know what you will choose paying the damages rather than suspend your license right? No, you will not be dismissed for the ticket you have got, what you need to do is seek some advice from the lawyer an " ACCIDENT ATTORNEY" they are expert when it comes to that. For sure they will give you a right options for your case. They have free consultation don't worry. I hope this could help. :)

stuartfish : You can consult your insurance company regarding with your status. They can give you more knowledge about this, or if they won't cooperate with your it is time to ask your lawyer to the things that you should do. It is better to have a plan b than to center your attention into one source.

europsSpoorma : Your case is quite complicated. The best thing you can do in here is to contact a lawyer right away and discuss to him about your situation. It is best for you to have a legal assistance. You can also visit this site: personal-injury-case.info . They have blogs that can help you assess your situation.

wbnefcahmyha : If she was driving a rental and opted for the rental insurance, your beef is with that insurance company for as long as their policy allows coverage of your bills. After that, you go after the woman who hit you. Having a copy of the police report can be a great aid to the legal battle you may be entering.

LaumbNom : It's usually completely unnecessary to get a lawyer simply because you were in a car accident.

uryanw : Because of the complexity of the cars involved (ie- a rental car), I would get a lawyer because the rental co will try their best NOT to pay any claim or medical bills.
A lawyer knows how to do everything and will get things done for you
DO NOT SIGN ANY PAPERS FROM THE RENTAL CO, until you have a lawyer and follow his/her advice.
Good Luck

BromRamimer : That's what your attorney will shoot for. Medical bills, days off work (if any), pain and suffering since you at still going to doctor for injuries. You also want compensation for future injuries if they persist. You also want compensation for your car.

Do you have your own insurance? Your insurance company should be going after the car rental's insurance. Rental car insurance should pay all bills, car, future injuries.

If you didn't have your own insurance then you're going to need a lawyer. Get back to your insurance agent (if you do have insurance) to find out what's up. Sign nothing and get all paper work together + copies.
